Chalet S Dolomites
Selva di Val Gardena

Design chalet hotel in Val Gardena
Along the Val Gardena valley there are many houses with pointed wooden roofs. The Hotel Sporting, located in the third village of the valley, Selva di Val Gardena, is a small hotel in the traditional South Tyrolean chalet style. Its former name was 'Hotel Sporting', but when it was renovated it was renamed 'Hotel Chalet S Dolomites'.
This region is also known as South Tyrol. This seems to be because it shares the Tyrolean culture at the foot of the Alps and the Dolomites, regardless of the current border between Austria and Italy. Perhaps this is why the architectural style is similar, with wooden houses of two to three storeys built on a stone plinth, sloping wooden roofs and chalets with wooden terraces scattered across the hillside.
This hotel is designed in a modern, contemporary style, but is essentially chalet-style for the region. The interior is mainly white and light wood. The antler carvings found throughout the accommodation are said to be the symbol of the place.
The attraction of this place is that it is the best place for trekking in the Dolomites, thanks to the fact that the accommodation is in the middle of all the destinations, including the Alpe di Siusi and the Sassolungo.
Above all, the bus stop is not far away. If you want to rest your legs after a long trek, ask the owner for advice. He also recommends a quiet and mysterious path that only the locals know about and that is very easy to walk. Among the walks he recommended, the one in the Val Lunga on a rainy day is one of our most beautiful memories.
The view out of the window overlooking the village with its huddled wooden roofs and the Val Gardena stretching far beyond the Selva mountain range is a bonus.
